November 19 - This week with the festival in Malad, I will be doing a make-n-take. Be sure to stop by and see what's going on. We are also doing a Christmas Card exchange Friday the 21st. If you'd like to participate, bring a dozen homemade Christmas cards. You will go home with a dozen different cards. What a great way to get ideas to make your own cards! This will begin at 5 pm but if you can't make it then, drop your cards off and we'll exchange them for you. Come by and see our new look - but don't look too deep. I'm still working on it.

November 1 - We are ready to start up with classes again. Be sure to mark November 7 on your calendar and attend our Scrap-N-More. There will be two great classes so check the calendar tab. Come by and see the shop's new look. We've repainted and moved everything around (whew! what a job!). We will be carrying less merchandise but more room to just scrapbook so come by and visit while you crop. We are planning a Christmas Card Exchange November 21. Bring 10 cards, leave with 10 different cards. No limit to the amount you exchange. Just bring 10 of each.

October 11 - Sorry it's been so long since I last wrote. This has been a hard month. I had to get geared up for conference with Chris' health condition at the back of my mind. Conference was great! Great classes! Great cropping! Great fun! As soon as it was over I went with my husband for meetings he attended in Idaho Falls, then had to have a root canal, and back to St. George to spend one last week visiting Chris. He passed away Sept. 29. His funeral was Oct. 3 and then I returned home. The following was his obituary:
One of Heavenly Father's valiant children, Chris Lee Collins, returned home on September 29, 2008. Chris touched the lives of all who met him and his sweet spirit will be greatly missed.
Chris was born August 23, 1955, in Alhambra, California to Donald and Beverly Collins. Chris was the fourth of six children and spent most of his youth in West Covina, California.
Chris faced the challenges life presented him and accomplished many things that professionals had predicted he would never be able to do. He learned to walk, talk, read, write, and do many of the things that come naturally to most children. Chris enjoyed a great variety of activities such as bowling, competing in the Spedial Olympics, being on Art Linkletter's television show, singing, and performing any chance he got.
Chris moved with his family to St. George in 1981. Chris'’ friendliness and ready smile brought him many wonderful friends wherever he went, including the Dixie Advantage Workshop and Harmon's, one of his favorite places to work.
One of Chris' favorite interests was to spend time in Idaho with his sister, Cindy. He spent many summers working at her scrapbook store. After his mother's death he stayed with Cindy and continued working at her scrapbooking store where he loved visiting with all the lovely ladies that came in.
He loved those from the Holbrook Ward who accepted him and went out of their way to make him feel at home.
Chris' family will cherish the 53 years of memories with Chris that they were given the privilege to enjoy. Most of those memories involved the things that Chris enjoyed most bowling, music, Elvis, The Partridge Family, horses, his favorite sport teams, scrapbooking and his family.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother who we know greeted him with loving arms. Chris is survived by his father, Donald Collins of St. George, his siblings, Jade (Dana) Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Cindy (Dallan) Nalder of Holbrook, Idaho; Randy (Jullie) Collins of Claremont, California; Tim (Cathy) Collins of St. George, Utah; and Cathy (Cory) Pulsipher of St. George, Utah. Chris' pride and joy were his 20 nieces and nephews; and his 21 great nieces and nephews.
His funeral was held Oct. 3, 2008 in St. George, Utah.

Aug. 10 - Just back from St. George! Chris' condition is not good. The Alzheimers has progressed to where we had to put him in a nursing home. It is so sad to see him in the condition he is in right now and then have to be so far away. Talen is doing good. Still hasn't gained much weight but as cute as ever. Just about the time he thinks I'm OK, I have to head back home. Rylie is doing great! She is walking on her own now but still wobbly. Her eyes tend to cross but she sees the eye doctor this week so maybe we'll know more after he looks at her. The shop will be open this week Thursday - Sat. Still lots of product at great prices. Conference is coming up! We have some great classes planned. Be sure to schedule it in!

July 21 - The shop will be open this week Thursday - Saturday (July 24-26) from 11 am - 5 pm. Kids klub will be Friday at 1 pm. with a fun painted & paper party frame. Our clearance sale is still going on with lots of great savings. We have received a shipment of adhesives to restock with and more of the Tim Holtz grunge board. These items will not be put out yet because of the sale but will be available to buy. Please ask to see them if you would like them at our usual prices.

July 17 - Rylie was released from the hospital Tues. late afternoon and we returned home yesterday. She is able to crawl by herself but needs help to walk. She gets frustrated very easy when I think she realizes she can't do everything she used to be able to. But with time and therapy we are hoping she gains her coordination back soon. I will try to keep the shop open on the weekends but still working out the schedule. The sale is still on going so stop and check out the great prices.

July 13 - The fundraiser in Holbrook on Friday was wonderful. So many showed up and the amount of items donated for the auction was overwhelming. We love and appreciate each and everyone of you who helped our family, especially all the prayers offered for Rylie's recovery. She is doing so good. The doctors said she is a miracle. They have finished her speech therapy because she is back to where she was when the accident happened. She has taken a few steps but will still need some physical therapy after she goes home which we are hoping happens sometime this week. I still can't get over how fast she has made improvements. The shop hours are still questionable because of all that is going on. Please call 766-2666 if you plan on coming in and have to travel.

June 26 - Small improvements! She's breathing on her own and the respirator was removed. She opens her eyes and once in a while we can get a smile. We think she recognizes us but it's hard to tell for sure. The therapist tickled her foot and she pulled it back. So we have high hopes but I fear it will be a long recovery. Can't tell you how much your prayers have meant to us. I will try to add more news whenever I can. P.S. My gobigwest email account is not working and I'm not getting any messages forwarded to me from this site. If you need to get in touch please email my hotmail account directly at: a2zscrapbooks@hotmail.com. Thanks!

June 24 - Last Thursday night our sweet four year old granddaughter, Rylie, had a horrible accident. She was climbing on some metal fence panels that gave way and threw her to the ground with one striking her in the head. Her mother, LaNae, a trained EMT revived her and she was life flighted to Primary Children's Medical Center. She has five fractures in her skull from the forehead to the back of her head. She remains in ICU at the present time and has not gained conscienceness. We greatly appreciate all the prayers and kindness shown to our family at this time. We LOVE you all!

June 6 - What a week! I need a break! Thursday night (actually Friday morning at 2 am) a pipe started leaking in our basement or maybe I should say that's when I noticed the noise and found out about it. It was mainly confined in the fruitroom but was starting to seep down the hallway. I had planned on attending my niece's wedding in Las Vegas on Sat. but had to miss it due to cleaning up the mess the pipe made. Isn't that the way things go! Wonderful news: Shelly called and said Talen was up to 18 lbs. so it looks like the G tube is helping. YEAH!The doctors think Chris possibly had pneumonia and coughed hard enough to injure his side but his condition is still deteriorating. He needs the help of a walker but struggles with knowing how to make it work. We received some fun and new products in the shop this week. Come by and see them. Check out our class schedule too! I've just set up the dates for our next conference. It will be Sept. 12-13. I know that is earlier than we've had it in the past but hope it works for all of you. Check the site often for up to date information on classes, etc.

May 19 - Sorry it's been so long since I've added anything. For those of you who missed conference, it was great. I had a lot going on but survived it. The classes were the best ever! During that week Chris was in the hospital from Tues - Sat. I'm just glad they had transferred him to Pocatello. It made running from the hospital to conference easier. And "thank you" to all those who helped especially those who filled in teaching a class they weren't scheduled to. I had to close the shop for a week while I took care of Chris who was basically bedridden after he was released from the hospital. He is now back in St. George and we are waiting for doctor appointments to be able to find out more. A very special "THANKS" to those who came to conference and gave so generously to Talen's fundraiser. We were able to raise $500 to help with his medical expenses. He was operated on Friday where they put a G tube in. It goes directly into his stomach so they are able to make sure he gets the nutrition he needs. Hopefully, this will help him start gaining the weight he needs. I'm in the process of trying to decide what the future holds. I can see I need to give more time to helping with my family's medical conditions and then there is my husband who has been neglected during a tough campaign. The shop has also been neglected and it's hard to find the time needed to do everything to keep it up. For that I'm greatly sorry! I've had hopes and dreams of a fun place for all to come and enjoy scrapbooking and paper craft projects. I need your opinions and advice on what you'd like to see happen with the shop. Please come by and let me know what you think.
